THEME: “NAGKAKAISANG MGA BARANGAY, KAAGAPAY NG BANSANG MAUNLAD”

MARCH 20, 2021, COVERED COURT, BARANGAY BALUNO, NAGA, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY

The 44th Infantry (Agile N Stable) Battalion and 1st Infantry (TABAK Division) of the Philippine Army, with the Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Department of Interior and Local Goverment in coordination with the Municipality of Naga together with the Barangay Captains, the Provincial Chairman of Federated Madaris of the Philippines, the Islamic Professor of Ibno UTHAIMIN Islamic Ins. and participated by consitutuents mostly from the host Barangay, conducted the Grand Pulong-Pulong on March 20, 2021, at Barangay Baluno Covered Court, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay with the theme “Nagkakaisang mga Barangay, Kaagapay ng Bansang Maunlad”.

The program started around 1:40 in the afternoon with the welcome address of Baluno Barangay Chairman, Hon. Aldan S. Arani after the opening prayer of Hon. Abdurahman A. Atab for the Muslim prayer and TSG Arnulfo C. Tumulak (INF) PA for the Chrsitian prayer followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem.

PO2 Ronald B. Empeñado, CMDR Coast Guard-Naga gave an update regarding their area of responsibility. He said that he handled three municipalities including the Municipality of Kabasalan, Siay, and Naga and is under Palid Substation. He also made mention about floating assets including aluminum boats and maritime security threats. Moreover, he advises that owners of boat should register their boats to the municipality of its jurisdiction.

Municipal ABC President of Naga, Hon. Benhar A. Jaliol also gave his message emphasizing that everyone should cooperate for the peace and order. Hon. Jaliol is followed by the message of the representative of PMAJ Mary Grace Cruz Alfonso, Acting Chief of Police of Naga, in the person of PEMS Roel Magbanua Bais, MESPO sharing that Barangay is the smallest political structure of governance and that we cannot adhere peaceful governance if our Barangays are chaotic. He also empahized the mandatory log-book of  those consituents that are not from our Barangay. In addtion, PCPL Mark Glenn S. Ambalit, MCAD PNCO also inform the public regarding the Corona-virus Awareness Response and Empowerment (CARE) program and gave some tips on how to avoid the spread of said virus.

To give an update regarding the Madaris of the Philippines, Provincial Chairman of Federated Madaris of the Philippines, Ustadz Mauvi L. Nieto shared the context of Madrasah which he said is the Arabic term for school. He stresses that Islam religion and education is anchored in the foundation of peace and that Madrasah adheres to transparency to show their teachings to the general public.

Ustadz Mauvi is supported with Shiek Abbas A. Abdulrazak, Islamic Professor of Ibno UTHAIMIN Islamic Ins. as he said “tanging hangad ng pulong-pulong ay kung paano natin marating ang tunay na kapayapaan”. Shiek Abbas also encourages the public that crimes should not be automatically associated with Islam.

Ustadz Mauvi is followed by the message of the Commanding Officer of 44th Infantry (Agile N Stable) Battalion and 1st Infantry (TABAK Division)  LTC Filven S. Noche INF (GSC) PA, starting with asking all women participants to stand in recognition for the Women’s Month Celebration. LTC Filven said that we are now facing two enemies; the Corona-virus Disease and the threats to development which are terrorism and criminality. He also thanked the support of the Municipality of Naga in their operations to combat said threats.

Since there are no questions for the open forum, the program ended with closing remarks of Municipal Mayor Hon. Rino O. Delos Reyes. Mayor Rino inform the public that during his administration, he made an arrangement with the Communist Terrorist Groups to give the people of Naga 20 years of peace for the sake of development. Mayor Rino also thanked the speakers and dignitaries for conducting the Grand Pulong-Pulong especially the Philippine Army for the benefit of the general public. Moreover, he encourages the public to support the government to its endeavors and to be pro-government in order for the government to serve its consitutuents well.
